Correct Answer - Option 1 : 13824

Given:

Diameter of bigger ball is D = 24 cm

The radius of bigger ball R = 12 cm

Radius of smaller ball r = 0.5 cm

Formula required:

Number of balls = Volume of bigger ball /Volume of a smaller ball

The volume of sphere = 4 × π × r3/3

Calculations:

Number of balls = \(\frac{ 4 × π × R^3/3}{ 4 × π × r^3/3}\)

⇒ (12 × 12 × 12) /(0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5) = 13824

∴ The number of balls is 13824
