Correct Answer - Option 1 : 60
Given:
A house can be painted by 30 men in 14 days working 9 hours a day, and the same house can be painted by some women working 7 hours a day.
The efficiency of working a man is 2 times of women.
Formula Used:
Total work done = (Efficiency) × (Number of persons) × (Time taken)
Calculation:
Let the number of women employed to do the same job in 18 days working 7 hours a day be W.
As given 30 men can paint a house in 14 days working 9 hours a day.
⇒ The total work done by 30 men = 14 × 9 × 30 × 2 ----(1) (As the efficiency of a man is 2 times of a woman)
Now the work done by W women will be
⇒ The work done by W women = W × 1 × 7 × 18 ----(2)
As both painted the same house, then the work done will be same also.
⇒ Work done = 14 × 9 × 30 × 2 = W × 1 × 7 × 18
⇒ W = 60
∴ The number of women to paint the house will be 60.
