Correct Answer - Option 1 : 5000

Given:

A sum of money is to be distributed among A, B, C, D in the proportion of 4 ∶ 2 ∶ 5 ∶ 3.

Calculation

let the shares of A, B, C, and D be Rs. 4x, Rs. 2x, Rs. 5x and Rs. 3x respectively.

According to the question,

⇒ 5x – 3x = 5000

⇒ x = 2500

B's share = Rs. 2x = Rs. (2 x 2500) = Rs. 5000.

∴ B’s share is Rs. 5,000
