Correct Answer - Option 4 : 17,500

Given:

A works in a company, From his monthly salary, 15% is deducted as house rent, and he spends 15% on children’s education and 20% on others. If he is left with Rs. 8,750.

Concept used:

Percentage

Calculation:

Let the total money A had be Rs.100

15% is deducted in house rent : 15% of 100 = Rs.15

15% on children's education : 15% of 100 = Rs.15

20% on other expenditures : 20% of 100 = Rs.20

Total money spent = 15 + 15 + 20 = Rs.50

AS per the question,

Remaining money = 100 - 50 = Rs.50

⇒ 50 unit = Rs.8750

⇒ 100 unit = Rs.17500
