Correct Answer - Option 1 : 50 cm

Given:

Length = (x + 3) cm, Breadth = (x – 2) cm

Area of rectangle = 150 sq. cm

Formula used:

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

Calculation:

Area of rectangle = (x + 3) × (x – 2)

⇒ x2 + 3x – 2x – 6 = 150

⇒ x2 + x – 156 = 0

⇒ x2 + 13x -12x – 156 = 0

⇒ (x + 13)(x – 12) = 0

⇒ x = 12 or x ≠ - 13

So, Length = (x + 3) = 15 cm, Breadth = (x – 2) = 10 cm

∴ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(15 + 10) = 50 cm
