Concept used:

Prime number: A positive integer that has only 2 factors 1 and number itself.

1 is neither prime nor composite

Calculation:

Between 1 and 40 prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37.

∴ The total prime number between 1 and 40 is 12

The correct option is 4 i.e. 12
