Correct Answer - Option 1 : 3 : 5

Given:

LCM of two numbers is 15 times their HCF. The HCF of those two numbers are 14 and one of those numbers is 70.

Concept Used:

LCM × HCF = 1st number × 2nd number

Calculation:

The HCF of those two numbers is 14 and the LCM of those two numbers is 15 times their HCF.

⇒ LCM of those two number is 15 × 14

Let, the other number is p

Accordingly,

15 × 14 × 14 = 70 × p

⇒ p = (15 × 14 × 14)/70

⇒ p = 42

The ratio of the smaller number to the bigger number is 42 : 70 = 3 : 5

∴ The ratio of the smaller number to the bigger one is 3 : 5.
