Correct Answer - Option 2 : 14

Given:

Saving of Suman = \(33\frac{1}{3}\)%

expenditure increased by 10%

Saving increase by 22%

Concept:

Saving = Income – Expenditure

Solution:

Let the income of Suman be 300 unit

⇒ Saving of Suuman = 100/(3 × 100) × 300

⇒ 100 unit

Saving = Income – Expenditure

⇒ 100 = 300 – Expenditure

⇒ Expenditure = 200 unit

According to question

Saving = Income – Expenditure

⇒ 100 + (100 × 22)/100 = 300 + (300 × x)/100 – (200 + (200 × 10)/100)

⇒ 122 = 300 + (300 × x)/100 – 220

⇒ 122 + 220 – 300 = (300 × x)/100

⇒ (42 × 100)/300 = x

⇒ x = 14

∴ The value of x is 14
