Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 60000

Given:

P and Q invested in a business. The profit earned was divided in the ratio 2 : 3. If P invested Rs. 40000.

Concept used:

Amount invested P to Q = ratio of their profit

Calculation:

The amount of P invested Rs. 40000 and amount invested by Q is y.

Amount invested P to Q = ratio of their profit

⇒ 40000/y = 2/3

⇒ y = 40000 × 3/2

⇒ y = Rs. 60000

∴ The amount invested by Q is Rs. 60000.
