  • Chhattisgarh included seven districts of the old state and is rich in mineral wealth and a substantial rice-producer.

  • Uttarakhand 9 November 2000, which was later renamed Uttarakhand, was created out of the mountainous districts of northwest Uttar Pradesh.
  • The formation of Uttarakhand fulfilled the long-voiced demands of the tribal of Kumaon and Garhwal.
