Providing medical cover to the home-less Indians.

Only a handful of states have arranged food provisions, healthcare and sanitation facilities for the homeless.

States such as Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal have ensured the provision of food for ration card holders under two heads: the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, where households are identified as per the Centre’s criteria, and Priority HouseHold scheme as per state guidelines.

Promoting the use of generic medicines.

Generic medicines are clinically interchangeable with original brand medicines and have the same quality, efficacy and safety profiles.

‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana’ (PMBJP) for providing quality, unbranded generic medicines at affordable prices in the country

They are, nevertheless, much cheaper in price. Thus, while providing the same therapeutic outcomes, generic medicines lead to substantial savings for healthcare systems.

Promoting gender equality at workplaces.

Equal pay and benefits for comparable roles with similar responsibilities.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is administering following schemes for gender equality/socio-economic development/empowerment of women.

Equal opportunities for promotions and career progression.

Equal consideration of needs.
