Correct Answer - Option 4 : 3,000 crores

The Correct Answer is 3,000 crores.

  • The path to employment, particularly better-paying jobs, runs through skills training. The equation here is clear - the skilled are more productive, and more should be paid to those who are preferably productive. Vocational training, therefore, has been the focus of the government.
  • This was reinforced again in the 2020 Budget, introduced by Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister. In 2020-21, the government suggested providing about Rs 99,300 crore for the education sector and about Rs 3,000 crore for the growth of skills.
  • The government has established job opportunities in infrastructure building, operation and maintenance.
  • The Minister also emphasized the value of apprenticeship programs, which are arguably the best kind of skills to be learned in realistic circumstances.
  • Minister of Finance added that the government is proposing to launch a program whereby urban local bodies across India will provide new engineers with internship opportunities for a duration of up to one year.
  • Public urban authorities carry out public works and there is an incentive for rookie engineers to brush up their skills.
