Correct Answer - Option 1 : 8%

Given:

Listed Price or Marked Price (MP) of the fan = Rs.1500

Discount on the MP = 20%

Final SP = Rs.1104

Formula Used:

When a discount of x% is given on an article, we obtain:

SP = [(100 – x)/100] × MP

Calculation:

Let the additional discount required be a%

The initially obtained SP is:

= [(100 – 20)/100] × 1500 = Rs.1200

The final SP becomes:

1104 = [(100 – x)/100] × 1200

⇒ 1104 = 1200 – 12x

⇒ x = 96/12 = 8

∴ The additional discount is 8%
