Given:

Let number of students in Science and Arts stream be 4a and 5a respectively.

Calculation:

The number of students in Science stream in the next year = 4a × 140/100 = 28a/5

The number of students in Arts stream in the next year = 5a × 80/100 = 20a/5

∴ Required ratio = (28a/5) : (20a/5) = 7 : 5
