Correct Answer - Option 3 : 25%

Given:

Price of 1 ladoo = Rs. 2.5

Price of 3 ladoo = Rs. 6.5

Selling price of 4 ladoo = Rs. 7

Concept:

Since, the number of ladoos are unknown, just equal the number of ladoos bought by taking LCM and then calculate the selling price of the ladoos, and then calculate the profit or loss percentage.

Formula used:

Loss% =  [(CP - SP)/CP] × 100

Calculation:

Price of 1 ladoo = Rs. 2.5      ------(1)

Price of 3 ladoo = Rs. 6.5      ------(2)

Taking LCM of (1,3) = 3

Multiply (1) with 3 and add to (2)

⇒ Price of 3 ladoo = 2.5 × 3 = Rs. 7.5

∴ Total CP of all the 6 ladoo bought = Rs. 7.5 + Rs. 6.5 = Rs. 14      ------(3)

∵ Selling price of 4 ladoo = Rs. 7      ------(4)

Equal the number of ladoo bought and sold by taking LCM of (6 and 4) = 12

Multiply (3) with 2 and multiply (4) with 3;

2 × (CP of 6 ladoo = Rs. 14)

= CP of 12 ladoo = Rs. 28

3 × (SP of 4 ladoo = Rs. 7)

= SP of 12 ladoo = Rs. 21

∴ CP > SP; there is a loss.

∴ Loss % = [(CP - SP)/CP] × 100

= [(28 - 21)/28] × 100

= (7/28) × 100

= 25%
