Correct Answer - Option 3 : 512 cubes

Given:

Edge of larger cube = 16 cm

Edge of smaller cube = 2 cm

Formula Used:

The volume of cube = side × side × side

Calculation:

Volume of larger cube = 16 cm × 16 cm × 16 cm

Volume of smaller cube = 2 cm × 2 cm × 2 cm

Number of  cubes can be cut = Volume of larger cube × Volume of the smaller cube

⇒ Number of  cubes can be cut = (16 cm × 16 cm × 16 cm)/( 2 cm × 2 cm × 2 cm)

⇒ Number of  cubes can be cut = 512 cubes

512 cubes can be cut.

∴ The correct option is 3 i.e. 512 cubes
