Correct Answer - Option 4 : D

Given:

A train covers a distance of 435 km

Time taken by train is 2 hours 30 minutes.

Concept used:

To convert the speed from km/hr into m/s

m/s = (5/18) × km/hr

Formula used:

Speed = Distance/Time

Calculations:

We can write 2 hours 30 minutes as 2.5 hours

According to the question, we have

Speed = Distance/Time

⇒ Speed = 435/2.5

⇒ Speed = 174 km/hr

To convert into m/s, multiply it by 5/18

⇒ Speed = 174 × (5/18)

⇒ Speed = 48.33 m/s

∴ The speed of train is 48.33 m/s.
