Train A runs at the speed of 80 km/h and it leaves from station X at 6:00 o'clock. Train B departs from the same station at 6:15 o'clock. At what speed should train B run so as to reach together with Train A on the next station located at a distance of 100 km?

Correct Answer - Option 1 : 100 km/h

Speed of train A = 80 km/h

Time is taken by train A = t hr

Time is taken by train B = (t - 15/60) hr

Distance = 100 km

Let Speed of Train B = S km/h

According to ques;

Distance covered by train A = Speed × time

100 = 80 × t

t = 5/4 hr

Similarly 

Distance covered by train B = Speed × time

100 = S × (t - 15/60)

put t = 5/4 hr

100 = S × (5/4 - 15/60)

100 = S × 1

S = 100 km/h

Hence, Speed of train B is 100 km/h.
