Correct Answer - Option 2 : 12 m

Given:

Length of the cuboid = 17 m

Height of the cuboid = 3 m

The lateral surface area of the cuboid is 174 sq m

Formula used:

Lateral surface area of cuboid (i.e. area of the 4 walls of a cuboid) = 2h(l + b)

Where l → length

b → breadth

h → height

Calculations:

The area of the 4 walls of a cuboid = 2h(l + b)

2h(l + b) = 174

⇒ 2 × 3 × (17 + b) = 174

⇒ b = 29 – 17 = 12 m

∴ The breadth of the cuboid is 12 m.
