Correct Answer - Option 3 : 10

Given:

The sum of two numbers is 26.

The difference of two number is 14.

Calculation:

Let the larger number be x.

Let the smaller number be y.

According to the question;

The sum of two numbers is 26.

⇒ x + y = 26

⇒ x = 26 - y

The difference of two number is 14.

⇒ x - y = 14

⇒ 26 - y - y = 14

⇒ 26 - 14 = 2y

⇒ 12 = 2y

⇒ y = 6

The larger number x = 26 - 6 = 20

Three times the larger number is divided by the smaller number

⇒ 20 × 3/6 = 10

∴ The quotient is 10.
