Ravi, Rakesh and Reema can do a work in 20, 12 and 25 days respectively. They work for 5.33 days, 4 days and 10 days separately and work is completed. If total amount to do this work is Rs 1800. Then find the share of each (in Rs.)?
1. 480,600,720
2. 480,500,720
3. 480,240,300

Correct Answer - Option 1 : 480,600,720

Given:

Ravi, Rakesh and Reema can do a

work in 20, 12 and 25 days.

Ravi, Rakesh and Reema work for

5.33 days, 4 days and 10 days separately.

Total amount paid to them for

this work = Rs.1800

Formula Used:

Total work = Efficiency × Time

Calculation:

For Total Work we will take LCM of (20, 12 and 25) = 300.

So, Total assumed work will be 300 units.

Now, Efficiency of Ravi = Total work units/No. of days taken

= 300/20 = 15 units/day

Efficiency of Rakesh = 25 units/day

and Efficiency of Reema = 12 units/day

Ratio of their shares can be obtained by multiplying

Their efficiencies with no. of days they have taken separately to complete the work.

So, Ratio of Shares of Ravi, Rakes and Reema

= Efficiency of Ravi × 5.33 : Efficiency of Rakesh × 10 : Efficiency of Reema × 4

= 15 × (16/3) : 25 × 4  : 12 × 10

= 80 : 100 : 120

Sum of (80 + 100 + 120) R = 1800 (where R indicates ratio value)

⇒ 300R = 1800

⇒ R = 6

Share of Ravi = 80R = 80 × 6 = Rs. 480

Share of Rakesh = 100R = 100 × 6 = Rs. 600

Share of Reema = 120R = 120 × 6 = Rs. 720

The share of each one is Rs. 480, Rs. 600 and Rs. 720
