  • On 19 March 1944, the Azad Hind Army hoisted the tricolour for the first time with the help of the people of Manipur and other Indian National Army (INA) members in Moirang, Manipur.

  •  Azad Hind Fauz:
    • Azad Hind Government and the Indian National Army were formed on 21 October 1943.
    • In March 1942 a conference of Indians was held in Tokyo, and they formed the Indian Independence League. At the Bangkok Conference, Rasbehari Bose was elected President of the League.
    • Indian National Army formed by Captain Mohan Singh in Singapore.
    • Subhas Chandra Bose had escaped to Berlin in 1941 and set up the Indian Legion there. In July 1943, he joined the Indian National Army in Singapore. There Rasbehari Bose handed over the leadership to him.
    • Indian National Army had three fighting brigades named after Gandhiji, Azad, and Nehru. Rani Jhansi Brigade led by Laxmi Sehgal was an exclusive women force.
