The Correct Answer is C and D only.

  • Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun made a humble beginning as Forest School established in 1878. Hence, Statement C is correct.
  • Initially named as Imperial Forest Research Institute, FRI came into being in 1906. Hence, Statement A & B is incorrect.
  • Forest Research Institute, one of the institutes under ICFRE, was conferred the status of Deemed University in December 1991 on the recommendations of the UGC, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Hence, Statement D is correct.

  • ICFRE: Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education.
    • Founded: 1st June 1991.
