Correct Answer - Option 2 : Sanjeevani

The correct answer is Sanjeevani.

  • Amid CORONA pandemic and lockdown, in April 2020, the Indian Air Force (IAF) delivered 6.2 tonnes of essential medicines and hospital consumables to the Maldives under “Operation Sanjeevani”.
  • The consignment was delivered through C-130J transport aircraft.

  • These medicines were purchased by the State Trading Organisation of the Maldives from different companies in India.
  • But due to lockdown in India and as a preventive measure to check the spread of Covid-19, the other means were not available for transport.
  • So the government of Maldives requested the Indian Government and the Indian Air force came forward to fulfill the same.
  • Before this in March also India had sent 5.5 tonnes of essential medicine and a team of doctors to deal with the pandemic.
