Correct Answer - Option 2 : A, B, D

The correct answer is A, B, D.

  • A high-quality sugarcane original vinegar drink was produced from fresh sugarcane juice using the wine yeast and LB acetate bacteria by submerged alcoholic fermentation followed by acetic fermentation at room temperature. Hence statement A is correct.
  • Vinegar is essentially a dilute solution of acetic (ethanoic) acid in water. Hence statement B is correct.
  • Vinegar is used as a preservative for both domestic use and in the food industry. Hence the statement D is correct.
  • Benzoic acid is not present in Vinegar. Hence the statement C is incorrect.

  • Acetic acid is produced by the oxidation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria, and, in most countries, commercial production involves a double fermentation where the ethanol is produced by the fermentation of sugars by yeast.
