Correct Answer - Option 1 : radiation

The different type of plane table survey methods and their suitability is given below in tabulated form:

Plane Table survey Method

Suitability

Radiation

This method is suitable for the survey of small areas which can be commanded from a single station.

Intersection

This method is largely employed for locating the points to be used subsequently as instrument stations, for plotting the distant and inaccessible objects, the broken boundaries of the river etc.

It is much suitable for surveying hilly country where it is difficult to measure the horizontal distances.

Traversing

It is used for running survey lines of a closed or open traverse.

Resection

This method is used for locating the station points only.
