Correct Answer - Option 1 : 8 days

Given:

Time taken by A to complete the work = 12 days

Time taken by B to compete the work = 24 days

Formula used:

Efficiency = Total work/Time taken

Calculation:

LCM of 12 and 24 = 24 = Total work

Efficiency of A = 24/12 units/day

⇒ 2 units/day

Efficiency of B = 24/24 unit/day

⇒ 1 unit/day

Total efficiency of A and B = (2 + 1) units/day

⇒ 3 units/day

Required time = 24/3 days

⇒ 8 days

∴ The time taken by both A and B together to complete the work is 8 days
