Correct Answer - Option 3 : 120

Given:

Rs.180 contained in a box consists of one rupee , 50 paise and 25 paise coins in the ratio of 2:3:4.

Calculation :

Let the number of coins = x

So, the number of Rs. 1 coins = 2x

Number of 50 paise coins = 3x

Number of 25 paise coins = 4x

According to  question,

1(2x) + 1/2(3x) + 1/4(4x) = 180

2x + 3(x)/2 + x  = 180

3x + 3(x)/2 =180

6 + 3(x)/2 = 180

9(x)/2 = 180

x = 180 × 2 / 9

x = 40

The number of 50 paise coins are 3x = 3(40) = 120

∴ The number of 50 paise coins are 120.
