Correct Answer - Option 1 : 10.4

Explanation:

Concept:

According to Darcy formula the loss of head due to the friction in the pipe is given by

\({h_f} = \frac{{4fl{v^2}}}{{2gd}}\)

Where f is friction coefficient, l is length of pipe, v is velocity of fluid in the pipe, and d is diameter of pipe.

Calculation:

Given:

d = 0.15 m, l = 100 m, v = 2.26 m/s, f = 0.015.

\({h_f} = \frac{{4fl{v^2}}}{{2gd}}\)

\({h_f} = \frac{{4\; \times 0.015 \times \;100\; \times {{2.26}^2}}}{{2 \times \;9.8 \times 0.15}}\)

f = 10.41
