Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 2 : ₹ 18000

Given:

Investment of P = ₹ 56000

Investment of Q = ₹ 72000

Total loss at the end of one year = ₹ 42000

Concept used:

Loss = Investment × time

Calculation:

Investment time period of Q = (12 – 5) = 7 months

Loss ratio = (56000 × 12) : (72000 × 7)

⇒ Loss ratio of P & Q = 4 : 3

Total loss = 4x + 3x = 42000

Q’s share = (42000/7x) × 3x = 18000

The share of Q in the loss is ₹ 18000.
