  • A trackball is an Input device.
    • A trackball is a pointing device consisting of a ball held by a socket containing sensors to detect a rotation of the ball about two axis -
      • like an upside-down mouse with an exposed protruding ball.
    • A trackball is an input device used to enter motion data into computers or other electronic devices.
    • A trackball is essentially a different kind of computer mouse.
    • It is a plastic case containing a ball on the top that moves a computer cursor around on the screen.
    • The user can move the ball with their thumb or fingers, and sensors inside the case detect which direction the ball is moving.
    • A trackball is a computer cursor control device used in many notebook and laptop computers

 

  • Barcode reader :
    • A barcode reader is an optical scanner that can read printed barcodes, decode the data contained in the barcode and send the data to a computer.
      • Like a flatbed scanner, it consists of a light source, a lens, and a light sensor translating for optical impulses into electrical signals.
    • A barcode scanner will read this pattern of black and white bars and translate them into a line of test that your retail point of sale system can understand.
  • Touchpad :
    • The touchpad on a laptop does the same job as the mouse on a desktop PC.
    • It is sometimes also called a trackpad.
    • The touchpad is used to control the mouse pointer, also known as the cursor.
    • The cursor is used to point to and choose items on the screen.
  • Output device :
    • Any information that is processed by and sent out from a computer or other electronic device is considered output.
    • An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment that converts information into human-readable form.
    • It can be text, graphics, tactile, audio, and video.
    • Some of the output devices are Visual Display Units i.e. a Monitor, Printer, Graphics Output devices, Plotters, Speakers.
