Correct Answer - Option 4 : biotic

Explanation

  • The ecosystem is defined as the functional unit of nature, where living organisms interact among themselves and also with the surrounding physical environment.
  • The ecosystem is made up of two components: (These are the two factors that shape the ecosystem)

1. BIOTIC COMPONENTS -

  • Refers to all the living things present in the ecosystem.
  • The structure of an environment is affected by its presence as well as biological by-products.
  • All living things, including birds, humans, plants, fungi, and bacteria, are referred to as biotic factors.
  • Interactions between various biotic factors are needed for each species' reproduction and to meet basic needs such as food.
  • The biotic factors include (The nutritional relationship between living organisms is used to differentiate them) -
  1. Producers
  2. Consumers
  3. Decomposers
  4. Detrivores

As the BIOTIC component include the 'LIVING' things.

2. ABIOTIC COMPONENTS -

  • Refers to all the non-living components present in the ecosystem
  • All non-living, chemical, and physical factors found in the ecosystem are referred to as abiotic factors.
  • The abiotic component involves things like temperature, water, light, soil.
  • These variables have a major effect on a species' survival and reproduction in an ecosystem.
  • The abiotic components can be divided into :
  1. INORGANIC COMPONENTS - Many substances like sodium, sulfur, phosphorous, carbon, and other nutrients
  2. ORGANIC COMPONENTS - The substances that have carbon-hydrogen covalent bonds and formed and found due to many biotic activities hence organic compounds are said to be under the confusion that whether they are a part of the biotic component or abiotic component. the organic compounds include - protein, carbohydrates, fats, etc.
  3. PHYSICAL COMPONENTS -  These are the environmental factors like light, humidity, soil type, temperature, water, etc.

  1. ECOSYSTEM is divided into two components
  • BIOTIC - Includes all living things
  • ABIOTIC -  Includes all the non-living things
  1. 2. ECO FACTOR
  • Any environmental factor that can have a significant impact on organisms or their populations under certain circumstances, causing an increase or decrease in the number of organisms and/or changes in the communities.
