Correct Answer - Option 1 : 11, 55

Given, Johnson's current age is 1/5 of his father's age.

Let Johnson's present age be x

⇒ Johnson's father's present age = 5x

Given, five years earlier, Johnson's father's age was 2 years more than 8 times Johnson's age.

Johnson's age five years earlier = x - 5

Johnson's father's age five years earlier = 5x - 5

5x - 5 = 8 (x - 5) + 2

5x - 5 = 8x - 40 + 2

8x - 5x = 40 - 5 - 2

3x = 33

x = 11

Hence, Johnson's present age = x = 11 years.

Johnson's father's present age = 5x = 5 × 11 = 55 years.

Hence, the correct answer is "11, 55".
