Correct Answer - Option 2 : 5 ∶ 14

Given:

Mode ∶ median = 7 ∶ 4

Formula used:

Mode = 3 × median - 2 × mean

Calculations:

Let mode be 7x and median be 4x

7x = 3 × 4x - 2 × Mean

⇒ 7x = 12x - 2 × Mean

⇒  2 × Mean = 12x - 7x

⇒ 2 × Mean = 5x

⇒ Mean = 5x/2

Ratio of Mean and mode = 5x/2 ∶ 7x

⇒ 5x/14x = 5/14

∴ The ratio of mean and mode is 5 ∶ 14
