Number of girls is twice of boys in a class of 60 students. Therefore,

Number of girls = 40

Number of boys = 20

Number of people ahead of Kamal = 16

Number of girls ahead of Kamal = 9

Number of boys ahead of Kamal = 16 - 9 = 7

There are 7 boys ahead of Kamal. Hence, Kamal is 8th among boys. 

Thus, there must be 12 boys after him.

Hence, 12 boys are after Kamal in terms of their ranking.
