Correct Answer - Option 2 : C

Given:

A shopkeeper sells sugar at the rate of Rs.19 per kg.

In the selling price of 19 per kg, he suffers a loss of 5%.

Calculation:

Let the cost price of sugar per kg be 100.

According to the question,

A shopkeeper sells sugar at the rate of Rs.19 per kg      ----(1)

The shopkeeper suffers a loss of 5%.

 We can say,

The selling price of sugar per kg will be (100 – 5) = 95      ----(2)

Now, we have to find out the selling price of the sugar in rupees per kg to earn a profit of 10%.

Required Selling price = 110.

From equation (1) and (2),

95  → Rs. 19

⇒ 100 → (100 × 19)/95 = 20.

⇒ 110 → (20 × 110)/100 = 22.

The selling price of sugar per kg to earn a profit of 10% is Rs. 22.
