Correct Answer - Option 1 : Only statement 1 is sufficient, while statement 2 alone is not enough.

Given:

condition are (a + b)2 > (a - b)2

a = b

Calculation:

condition 1

(a + b)2 > (a - b)2

⇒ a2 + 2ab + b2 > a2 - 2ab + b

⇒ 2ab > -2ab

⇒ 4ab > 0

⇒ ab > 0      ----1

condition 2

a = b      ----2

∴ here we conclude that (a + b)2 > (a - b)is sufficient to answer question but a = b is not sufficient to answer question
