Correct Answer - Option 3 : feeders

Feeders:

  • A feeder is a conductor that connects the substation to the area where power is to be distributed.
  • Generally, no tapings are taken from the feeder so that the current in it remains the same throughout it.
  • The main consideration in the design of a feeder is the current-carrying capacity.

Booster: Booster is a low voltage high current series wound DC generator inserted into a DC circuit to add or inject a certain voltage proportional to the circuit current. The main purpose of providing a booster in the power system is to compensate for the voltage drop of the feeder.

Service mains: It is a small cable that connects the distributor conductor at the nearest pole to the consumer's end.

Substation: The electrical substation is the part of a power system in which the voltage is transformed from high to low or low to high for transmission, distribution, transformation, and switching. The power transformer, circuit breaker, bus-bar, insulator, lightning arrester are the main components of an electrical substation.
