Correct Answer - Option 1 : Rs. 240

Given:

Roshan contributes Rs. 2000 for 6 months

Akash contributes Rs. 1000 for 5 months

The total profit be Rs. 340

Formula used:

Profit =(holding time) × investment

Calculation:

Ratio of profit sharing among Roshan and Akash Roshan = Ratio of capital of Roshan and Akash for 1 month = 2000 × 6  ∶ 1000 × 5

= 12 ∶ 5

Let the profit sharing of Roshan and Akash be 12x and 5 x.

Total profit = 12x + 5x = 17x

∴ 17x = 340

⇒ x = 20

So, Roshan’s share of profit = 12x = 12 × 20 = Rs. 240

Roshan 's share of profit is Rs. 240.
