1. Because when placed in glass & plastic containers we can see what is inside.
2. Plastic & glass containers are light and easy to handle.
3. Plastic & glass containers can be recycled after use.
4. Because Aluminium metal reacts chemically with the acid present in pickles.

Correct Answer - Option 4 : Because Aluminium metal reacts chemically with the acid present in pickles.

The Correct Answer is Because Aluminium metal reacts chemically with the acid present in pickles.

  • Pickles contain acetic acid (in the form of vinegar).
  • If pickles are stored in metal containers made up of iron or copper, the acids can react with the metal.
  • This may lead to the formation of some health-hazardous compounds.
  • Hence pickles should not be stored in a metal container.

Properties of acids

  • Acids are those chemical substances that have a sour taste.
  • Acids change the color of blue litmus to red.
  • When an acid reacts with a metal, then salt and hydrogen gas are formed.
  • That is Metal + Acid ---> Salt + Hydrogen gas.
