I. x² + 11x + 30 = 0

⇒ x² + 6x + 5x + 30 = 0

⇒ (x + 6) (x + 5) = 0

⇒ x = -6, -5

II. y² + 7y + 12 = 0 

⇒ y² + 4y + 3y + 12 = 0 

⇒ (y + 4) (y + 3) = 0

⇒ y = -4, -3
