Correct Answer - Option 2 : Horses have stripes or zebras have stripes. 

Here the logic is :

To make the statement 'both horses and zebras have stripes' false we just need any one of them does not have stripes.

If "Horses have stripes or zebras have stripes" to make this statement true we need the given question statement.

So, the sentence "Horses have stripes or zebras have stripes" is the correct answer.
