Correct Answer - Option 4 : Harish Rawat

The correct answer is Harish Rawat.

  • Harish Rawat’s second tenure as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand lasted only for a day, the shortest in India’s history.
  • Om Prakash Chautala served as Haryana's Chief Minister for six days from July 12 to July 17 in 1990.
  • In November 2019, Devendra Fadnavis held office only for 3 days after he made a comeback for a 2nd term as the CM of Maharashtra. After that, he had to resign due to political reasons.
  • In May 2018, B.S. Yeddyurappa held office only for 3 days as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was sworn in as the chief minister of Karnataka on 17 May. He resigned before facing a Supreme Court-mandated floor test on 19 May.

  • Other Chief Ministers who served for a short tenure:
    • Nitish Kumar: During the year 2000, Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar served as the Chief Minister of Bihar for 8 days, from March 3 to March 10.
    • Jagdambika Pal: He was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1998 for three days from 21-23 February.
    • Nabam Tuki: The Congress leader took oath as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on 13 July 2016, served for four days, and resigned on 17 July, following infighting within the party.
    • Satish Prasad Singh: The Congress leader held the post of Chief Minister of Bihar for 5 days from 28 January 1968 to February 1.
