Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 1 : x < y

Calculation:

From I,

5x2 + 3x  14 = 0

⇒ 5x2 + 10x  7x  14 = 0

⇒ 5x(x + 2) 7(x +2) = 0

⇒ (5x7) (x+2) = 0

Taking

⇒5x – 7 = 0 or x + 2 = 0

⇒ x = 7/5 or x = 2

From II,

y2 41y + 180 = 0

⇒ y2 36y  5y +180 = 0

⇒ y(y36)  5(y36) = 0

⇒ (y5) (y36) = 0

Taking,

⇒ y – 5 = 0 or y – 36 = 0

⇒ y = 5 or y = 36

Values of x Values of y Relation
7/5 5 x < y
2 5 x < y
7/5 36 x < y
2 36 x < y

∴ The relation between x and y is, x < y.
