I. x² + 5x + 6 = 0

⇒ x² + 3x + 2x + 6 = 0

⇒ x(x + 3) + 2(x + 3) = 0

⇒ (x + 3)(x + 2)= 0

⇒ x = -3, -2

II. y² + 9y + 20 = 0

⇒ y² + 5y +4y + 20 = 0

⇒ y(y + 5) + 4(y + 5) = 0

⇒ (y + 5)(y + 4) = 0

⇒ y = -5, -4

∴ x > y.
