I. 2x² + 10x – 28  = 0

⇒  2x² + 14x – 4x - 28 = 0

⇒ (2x - 4)(x + 7) = 0

⇒ x = 2, -7

II. y² – 11y + 30 = 0

⇒ y² - 6y - 5y - 30 = 0

⇒ (y - 6)(y - 5) = 0

⇒ y = 6, 5
