Assuming it behaves as a perfect gas, the density of ethane at 200 bar and 500 K will be

Given for ethane:

Tc = 305 K

Pc = 48.80 bar

R = 319.3 J/kgK

1. 120.52 kg/m3
2. 115.23 kg/m3

Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 4 : 125.27 kg/m3

Concept:

Ideal gas law: A gas which follows the ideal gas equation is known as ideal gas. Ideal gas equation is

P = ρRT

Where, P = Pressure, R = Gas constant, T = Temperature of gas

Calculation:

Given:

P = 200 bar = 200 × 105 N/m2, T = 500 K, R = 319.3 J/kgK

Using P = ρRT

200 × 105 = ρ × 319.3 × 500

ρ = 125.27 kg/m3
