  • The Jhelum is an important tributary of the Indus.
  • The Jhelum is a spring at Verinag situated at the foot of the Pir Panjal in the south-eastern part of the valley of Kashmir.
  • It flows with the youth stage in Srinagar and the Wular lake before entering Pakistan through a deep narrow gorge. Hence statement 1 is correct.
  • Jhelum in the valley of Kashmir is still in its youth stage and yet forms meander a typical feature associated with the mature stage in the evolution of fluvial landform. Hence statements 2 and 4 are correct.
