Correct Answer - Option 3 : 6 km

Given:

A student goes to school at 3km/h

He comes back at 2 km/h

He takes 5 hours in going & coming back

Concept used:

D = speed × time (where D is distance)

Calculations:

Let the distance be D km

According to the question

(D/3) + (D/2) = time (time = Distance/speed)

⇒ 5(D/6) = 5

⇒ D = 6 km

∴ The correct choice will be option 3.
