Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 2 : x ≤ y

Calculations:

From I,

x2 = 49

⇒ x = –7, 7

From II,

y2 – 16y + 63 = 0

⇒ y2 – 9y – 7y + 63 = 0

⇒ y(y – 9) – 7(y – 9) = 0

⇒ (y – 9)(y – 7) = 0

Taking,

⇒ y – 9 = 0 or y – 7 = 0

⇒ y = 9 or y = 7

Comparison between x and y (via Tabulation):

X

Relation

–7

x < y

x = y

x ≤ y.
